In many rural communities, access to a computer is still a luxury.

For some students, their first encounter with a computer does not happen until they arrive at college. By then, they are already behind, trying to learn basic digital skills while also adapting to higher education and competing in a rapidly changing world.

At the Oloowere Foundation, we believe opportunity should begin long before that moment.

Samuel was once a student supported through GOW scholarships during his high school journey. Through scholarship support and continued mentorship during college, Samuel remained focused, determined, and committed to building a better path for himself.

Today, Samuel has returned to his village and started a cyber café business, creating access to technology and digital services in a place where many young people have never had the chance to use a computer.

During a recent school holiday break, Samuel opened his doors to current GOW high school students and personally taught them basic computer skills. For many of these students, it was their first time sitting in front of a computer.

At Oloowere Foundation, this is the kind of impact we hope to create.

Not only students who succeed personally, but individuals who return to uplift their communities and create opportunities for the next generation.

One opportunity changed Samuel’s life. Now he is creating opportunities for others.
