When Christine first came to the Oloowere Foundation, she was facing a challenge shared by many bright students across underserved communities: she had the ability to succeed, but not the financial means to continue her education.

Oloowere Foundation stepped in to help cover her school expenses and support her throughout high school.

During her senior year, GOW connected her to the Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) Program, an initiative sponsored by Yale University that exposes Africa’s brightest young leaders to opportunities for higher education and service.

With mentorship, encouragement, and recommendation support, Christine applied—and was selected as one of only 15 students from across Africa chosen to participate.

She later went on to study law at Kisii University, where she became the youngest president of the Law Society.

Today, Christine continues to excel in her legal education and social justice work, carrying with her a passion for advocacy, leadership, and service.

Her story is a reminder that when young people are given opportunity and belief, they do not simply succeed personally, they become capable of changing the lives of others.

A scholarship helped Christine stay in school. Opportunity helped her discover her voice. Leadership is helping her change the world.
